It's the year 2004. A small group is leaving the sinking star of “Milchhof“ colony of artists to explore new worlds. At the end of Kaskelstrasse, in the Berliner district of Lichtenberg and surrounded by railway tracks, they found what they were looking for.

In the following summer they hired the old railway premises B.L.O. as Lockkunst e.V....and were not to be alone for long! In the speed of light five buildings were being occupied by artists of different crafts. Intergalactic, chambers, rooms, one hall, small and vast halls, even whole houses were made usable by 40 people soon involved in the association.
Thanks to the support of URBAN II a heating was installed to provide the warmth needed shortly before the onset of winter.
Every year, BLO-Ateliers has an open day to give you the opportunity to find out about the realities for yourself. This website will inform you about permanent and coming-up events, workshops, the artists in their studios. Have fun on your journey!
