Am Freitag 7. Oktober – um 20:30 – im Kino Kapriziös
Der Dokumentarfilm erzählt zwei Geschichten von Mitleid und Engagement auf zwei gegenüberliegenden Ufern des Mittelmeeres, durch die Korrespondenz zwischen Mohsen Lihidheb, einem intellektuellen und Postbote in Zarzis, Tunesien, und Vincenzo Lombardo, einen pensionierten Friedhofarbeiter in Lampedusa, Italien. Während seiner Suche nach Materialien am Strand für sein Museum des Meeres – ein reales Denkmal für die Opfer der Migration – findet Moshen einen Leichnam und entscheidet sich ihn mit Würde zu begraben. Vincenzo, in Lampedusa, empfindet das selbe Bedürfnis zu handeln, indem er die Gräber unbekannten Menschen pflegt, die er Jahre zuvor in dem lokalen Friedhof begraben hatte. Als Beginn des Arabischen Frühlings, als die Tragödien im Mittelmeer bedeutend wuchsen, zeigt Irene Dionisio einen möglichen Dialog von tiefer Menschlichkeit im Kontrast mit den Schrecken der gegenwärtigen Geschichte. Das Drehbuch hat im 2012 Solinas Documentary Prize for Cinema gewonnen und das SCAM Brouillon d’un rêve filmique Stipendium bekommen. SHORES hatte seine Premiere im Festival dei Popoli in Florenz im 2015, wo hat das Publikum-Preis gewonnen. Irene Dionisio (1986), Filmmakerin und visuelle Künstlerin, lebt und arbeitet zwischen Turin und Rome. Sie hat u. A. in Gruppenausstellungen im PAC-Milan, Museo Berardo in Lisboa, MAMBO Bologna, Cesac in Caraglio und Artissima in Turin ausgestellt.
Irene Dionisio (1986), Filmmakerin und visuelle Künstlerin, lebt und arbeitet zwischen Turin und Rome. Sie hat u. A. in Gruppenausstellungen im PAC-Milan, Museo Berardo in Lisboa, MAMBO Bologna, Cesac in Caraglio und Artissima in Turin ausgestellt. Im 2016 hat sie “Le ultime cose” (die letzten Sachen), ihrem ersten fiktionalen Film beendet, welcher während der International Critic Week der 73. Venedig Film Festival mit großem Erfolg präsentiert würde.

A documentary which tells two stories of compassion and civic virtue on two opposite shores of the Mediterranean, through the correspondence between Mohsen Lihidheb, a postman and intellectual in Zarzis, Tunisia, and Vicenzo Lombardo, a retired cemetery worker in Lampedusa, Italy. While searching on the beach for materials for his Museum of the Memory of the Sea – a true monument to the victims of migration – Mohsen finds a body which he decides to bury with dignity, without thinking twice about it. Vincenzo in Lampedusa shares this same sense of urgency, tending the tombs of the unknown people who he buried in the local cemetery years before. In the wake of the Arab Spring, as sea tragedies grow significantly, Irene Dionisio speaks of a potential dialogue, of deep humanity that contrasts with the obscene of current history. The screenplay won the 2012 Solinas Documentary Prize for Cinema and the SCAM Brouillon d’un rêve filmique bursary. Shores premiered at the Festival dei Popoli in Florence in 2015 where it won the Audience Award.
Irene Dionisio lives and works between Turin and Rome. She is a filmmaker and visual artist. She exposed in collective exhibition in PAC-Milan, Museo Berardo-Lisboa, Mambo – Bologna, Cesac Caraglio, Artissima, etc. This year she finished “Le ultimo cose”, her fist fictional work. The premiere will be during the international Critic Week, at the Venice 73. Film Festival.
