Lockkunst e.V. presents “Dia de la rauxa”, a gathering with live music in catalan, DJs, tasty Paella and vermouth to celebrate in community the end of summer and enjoy together once again!
We will start at 15h with paella & vermouth, while DJs 1’illo and Wahid Paradis treat us with their vinyl selection of levantine hits.
At 19h, the great Ares Gratal will charm us with her voice, navigating through different genres such as rumba catalana, flamenco and traditional folk.
From 20:30, the mighty Fetus, landing directly from Catalonia, will play their mixture of garage-punk and catalan roots songs for everyone to enjoy, beer in hand.
To close the evening, DJ Uriwilbury will make us dance with his patxanga terrorista until midnight.

About the bands:
FETUS
Fetus is a prominent Catalan folk punk band originating from La Bisbal d’Empordà. They are highly regarded for bridging the gap between fast-paced 1990s garage punk-rock, traditional Catalan roots music, and rowdy “tavern songs”.
Often described as the “Catalan version of The Pogues”, Fetus writes songs steeped in localized political and social humor. Their newer tracks tackle themes ranging from public transit complaints (Romanço de Rodalies) to critiques of current political parties and modern social trends. They also perform adapted covers of iconic protest bands like Billy Bragg (Una nova Catalunya) and Chumbawamba.

ARES GRATAL
The talented singer-songwriter and musician Ares Gratal was born in Catalonia and has been living in Berlin for over a decade. She is a singer, plays the saxophone and accordion, and composes music. Her musical style is influenced by catalan rumba, Latin American music, flamenco and jazz.
Ares Gratal studied classical music and has performed in various musical ensembles. In Berlin, she decided to devote herself to her great passion: singing. Here, she is a member of various music projects and bands – as both an instrumentalist and a singer – whose styles range from cumbia and samba to flamenco and beyond.
In 2021, she launched her first solo project. She is accompanied by some brilliant musicians. Have a listen:
