The B.L.O. Ateliers are participating in Lichtenberg’s Long Night of Pictures, an open studio tour across the district, on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 6 p.m. to midnight.
The B.L.O. Ateliers community is currently facing displacement and is in conflict with its landlord, Deutsche Bahn, over the long-term extension of their lease. Additionally, the buildings on the premises are subject to a usage ban due to unresolved issues with the electrical system.
Long Night of Pictures 2024 at the B.L.O. Ateliers
For the Long Night of Pictures, the artists and craftspeople of the B.L.O. Ateliers will create a unique experience for visitors, born out of necessity but full of creativity.
The studio visits will be accompanied by an outdoor program of unplugged concerts, performances, and a bar. Both visitors and B.L.O. artists will illuminate the premises like fireflies, with a clear message to cultural policymakers: Without us, the lights here will soon go out!
